HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for an Instrument Team Lead Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Instrument Team Lead Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities Instrument and satellite reviews Technical coordination of the Metop instruments and liaise with partners ESA NOAA NASA CNES Support the MHS FM4 followon Instrument related storagedestorage activities, reactivation and recalibration Investigations and corrective actions related to anomalies occurring on Metop instruments on ground or in orbit Preparation of launch campaigns, Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP activities and satellite commissioning Generation and maintenance of instrument related documents Control of the baseline definition of each instrument Critical analysis of instrument related schedules of satellite activities Monitoring of deliverables to and from partner agencies and industry Maintenance of an instrument issues tracker Tracking of actions on instrument related issues. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline Space hardware development and operation remote sensing instruments Project management preferably in the area of remote sensing instruments Knowledge of ECSS management QA processes and procedures Good computing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Darmstadt. We are looking for candidates who are available from August 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter.
