Intel supercharges AVX to 512 bits, will likely come to mainstream CPUs in 2015

Intel announced new extensions to AVX today -- the SIMD standard is headed up to 512 bits wide in future versions of Xeon Phi, with mainstream CPU integration likely in the 2015 timeframe.
