Summary Suitable for an enthusiastic selfmotivated engineer or scientist with a background in satellite data or remote sensing. The post is based at the UK head office but will work with ESA earth observation data. Objective To provide technical support to the existing VEGA team, carrying out the routine data checks within a service contract. This will involve checking the image data quality and the monitoring the outputs from the processors. Responsibilities Duties Tasks will include Routine activities which are required on a daily basis to assess the quality of the earth observation data. Highlight any problems with the data and, where possible, investigate the causes. Compile reports for ESA in a through and timely manner. Assisting in processor validation campaigns when needed. Support extra data processing campaigns. These are intensive periods of work and require good preparation and efficient execution. Other tasks as directed by the project manager. Qualifications Experience University degree in a science or engineering degree Knowledge and interest in Earth observation missions Capability to carry out routine tasks in a methodical and timely manner. Essential Skills Good attention to detail Ability to document and track information efficiently Good IT skills Desirable Skills Previous experience of working with earth observation data processors Linux Scripting Qualities Strong customer service attitude. Able to work cooperatively within a team.
