(Telecompaper) LG Electronics (LG) has inveiled its new KizON wristband, a smart wearable designed for parents with pre-school and primary school children. When the children put the wristband on, parents can keep track of their location using the device's GPS and Wi-Fi features, via their own smartphone or tablet. The KizON will launch in South Korea on 10 July before making its way to North America and Europe in the third quarter. Details of availability and price will be announced locally. The wristband also sports One Step Direct Call, so that parents can easily communicate with their children. Communication is both ways: kids can push a button and dial a pre-configured number within ten seconds. If the child fails to answer a call from any of the pre-configured numbers within ten seconds, KizON will automatically connect the call to let the parents listen through the built-in microphone. Meanwhile, the Location Reminder gives adults the ability to pre-set the device to provide location alerts at specific times throughout the day. The device works with 2G and 3G networks.
