We are currently looking for a MHS and NOAA Instruments Engineer to support our customer in Germany. MHS and NOAA Instruments Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the LEO Instruments Team, you will have the following responsibilities Participation to Metop satellite AIV, Launch and Commissioning activities relevant to the MHS and NOAA instruments Maintenance of an uptodate plan of Metop satellite AIV, Launch and Commissioning activities requiring support for the MHS and the NOAA instruments Follow up all activities related to MHS carried out by the Airbus DSUK and maintain a list of PDS activities and their status and expenditures Follow up of all activities related to the NOAA instruments including AVHRR and SEM instruments onground calibration Support inorbit checkout verification tests during MetopC In Orbit Verification IOV Investigation of onground and inorbit instrument anomalies and support operations to the relevant recovery actions, also providing general support to the Metop Ops. Team for MHS and NOAA instruments matters Participation to instrument reviews and maintain regular contact with partners and the industry in relation to MHS and NOAA instruments. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience A University Degree in Engineering or Physics Extensive experience in space HW projects with EO Instruments Capability to fulfil the tasks with minimum supervision and training Project Management background is desirable as well as the ability to follow satellite level Payload AIV activities Knowledge of PAQA processes and procedures Previous Experience in AITAIV and commissioning activities is an advantage Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Darmstadt.
