One of our space clients based in Germany are seeking an MTG GS Independent Verification and Validation IVV Engineer to support the installation on site and acceptance of facilities, MMEs, test tools the integration of facilities and MMEs into the GS, by verification of relevant interfaces and the verification of GS requirements. The deadline for applications is 09052016. Tasks The consultant shall provide expert technical support in the MTG IVV activities, mainly to the MTG GS AIV Manager and within the MTG GS Team. Maintain the GS IVV plans, schedules and verification control documents Support the generation, maintenance, review of test specifications and procedures Support the identification and development, or procurement, of test tools, and generation of required test data Support the preparation, execution, assessment, documentation of tests, including the reporting at relevant test readiness and test review board meetings Perform investigations into anomalies and their documentation in anomaly reports, supporting anomaly review board meetings Liaise with facility, MME and system teams for the resolution of relevant issues at facility, GS or system level, and the coordination of IVV activities across levels Support the facilities procurement and their reviews in the area of IVV Perform analysis and assessments of technical issues relevant to the GS IVV activities Support the conduct of GS reviews Support the Technical Officer of the MTG IVV Support Service in the definition and coordination of the activities to be provided by the service Deputize the MTG GS AIV Manager if so requested in his absence. Educationexperience University degree or equivalent in an engineering or scientific discipline and at least 5 years of experience in the development of satellite monitoring and control systems, andor payload data processing. Skills Specification and design of space missions ground segments, their interfaces and dataflows Development lifecycles Approaches and techniques for integration, verification and validation. Technical expertise will have been acquired in relevant technologies and tools, preferably from the following set Operating systems UNIXLinux. Networking Internet protocols, TCPIP programming, network monitoring. Automated software testing. Requirements and verification management DOORS Meteorological data formats HDF5, NetCDF, JPEG2000. Programming languages CC, Java, Javascript, XML, Perl, TclTk. Software development environments Eclipse. Relational databases MySQL, Oracle. Good communication and other interpersonal skills allowing himher to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team. A good command of the English language, spoken and written. The variety of the tasks and systems to be addressed require good organisational and analytical skills, and a high degree of autonomy.
