Manager, Satellite Planning Ref SES0794 Region Europe Location Isle of Man Douglas Company SES Category Other Engineering Technical Position Staff Published 20160504 Context SES Satellite Leasing Ltd is part of SES, the worlds preeminent communications company providing first class, worldwide broadcast and broadband communications through a fleet of 52 satellites. SES Satellite Leasing Ltd currently operates 13 satellites through a network of partners that give it global coverage with regional expertise. This ambitious company is continuously expanding and is therefore looking to fill the following position. The Manager, Satellite Planning, performs technical planning and optimization of the assigned SES satellites. Reporting to the VP, Satellite Project Oversight, the incumbent plays an active role in the evaluation to repurpose satellites in order to implement specified business opportunities. Once business requirements are agreed, the incumbent will lead crossfunctional teams to redeploy satellites to new orbital locations making most efficient and effective use of resources. Responsibilities Review and understand capabilities and limitations for specific SES satellites to operate at new orbital locations Analyze available ground infrastructures and determine how they can support the redeployment of satellites to new orbital locations Review and understand the design of SES satellites TTC, RF and payload subsystems issue recommendations on possible configurations and link budgets Direct and evaluate satellite and ground specialists work to optimize relevant parameters Agree with cross functional teams on key parameters and configurations for ground space segment throughout all satellite redeployment phases Experience Qualifications University degree BSc or MSc in engineering 10 years work experience in satellite operations or satellite engineering Excellent knowledge of geostationary satellites at systems and relevant subsystem levels Fluency in English Flexibility to travel up to 50 of the time Excellent analytical skills, result orientation, ability to provide practical conclusions Experienced team leader with effective project and time management skills Demonstration of the ability to be a team player, take initiative and be flexible Excellent verbal and written skills Outstanding human relations, interpersonal and communications skills Ability to selforganize, prioritize and handle multiple timesensitive tasks in demanding environment Permanent position based DouglasIsle of Man Our Offer Competitive salary package, coupled with a diverse array of challenges and development benefits.
