This is an opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join the Mars Express Flight Control Team based at ESOC, Darmstadt. This position is fully based on customer side ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. The position is unlimited and fulltime. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES AOCS Support o Analysis of AOCS performance, react to onboard anomalies o Prime role in support for the star trackers monitoringperformance assessment, anomaly recovery, OBSW modifications as needed. o AOCS monitoring and Reporting Interface with Flight Dynamics o maintain MODFDICD Interface control document o manage update of onboard ephemerids o keep track of OCMs, update long term fuel plots, gyro performance estimations Operations Support o take part in small training Simulations o produce new procedures, or change and update existing ones o produce training material for Team o Retrieve lost data and other support for oncall engineer, in support of SOC typically every 68 weeks in rota SOC duty, average every 68 weeks o On call support o Validation of weekly command product received from Mission Planning and coordination of their uplink to the spacecraft may require working outside of normal office hours Gain general knowledge of other systemspayload Learn usage of simulator and test updated or new procedures Learn how to use the MUST Data Archive QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE University or similar degree in aerospace, electronics or physics Minimum of 2 years experiences with operational aspects of satellites. MS Office Tools Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, VISIO, DOORS requirements management. In view of the complex interaction with numerous entities, you need to have good communication skills and the capability to manage complex and potentially stressful tasks. Good practical and analytical skills Demonstrated proactivity and problemsolving attitude are essential. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Spacecraft subsystem knowledge, in particular good knowledge of Platform and AOCS subsystems Good operational experience Experience with MOIS tools Ground Segment knowledge at system level Familiarity with SCOS2000 mission control system Familiarity with operational simulators Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Team player, ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision BENEFITS Competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package including 30 days holiday, generous training possibilities and Telespazio VEGA Deutschland pension scheme is offered to the successful candidate.
