Due to organic growth, we are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer who wants to use their Management skills or to progress into Management as a career path. You will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer from the Space Aircraft Automotive background and have wideranging and indepth client facing skills. You will be joining a small multicultural team 10, who are looking forwards into moving to a new state of the art building and Engineering offices. This team is part of a larger section 40 made up of Mechanical, Propulsion and Thermal professionals. As a Mechanical Architect Engineer Lead you will regularly manage the daytoday progress of project team. These teams will be 210 people and will include Thermal and Propulsion Architects and Mechanical Analysts. You will be also working as part of project teams 10200 depending on the project you work on. The Space focused projects you will be working on will have a 45 year life cycle. These projects include working with ESA EO Earth observation and science missions to other planets. As a Mechanical Architect, you will be working with the latest tools, 3DEXPERIENCE, FEMAP, DOORS and inhouse Airbus tools that have been developed to provide a range of exciting technical solutions. Tasks accountabilities Mechanical Architect leads the Mechanical test team and liaises with teams of different disciplines Responsible for the spacecraft structure subsystem throughout its design, build, test and launch Demonstrate verification to requirements throughout the life cycle of the project Robust knowledge of lightweight aerospace structures, tools and materials to deliver structural concept and ultimately design verification Knowledge of dynamic test of structural designs to show it is fit for purpose. Manage Structural Dynamic Analyst and interpret FEM data other tools are considered Broad, and indepth, experience in developing customer internal external relationships An interest in leading a small Project team 210 Responsible for structure subcontractor manufacturer Responsible for mechanical qualification of sub systems including payloads This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Required skills Management of the Satellite Accommodation Structure verification, Mechanical subsystems including structure and mechanism both in house and sub contract. Team management of Thermal and Propulsion Architects plus Dynamic Analyst and Design Office personnel. You will give guidance and support to the Design Office in order to create 3D models, drawings and documents for satellite integration. Preparation evaluation of test plans and reports. Supervision of the mechanical analysis team during satellite level environmental testing, including liaison to customer, launch service provider, test facilities and project management. Schedule and cost control using company software. Organisation of in house and subcontract costs. This role comes with travel typically once a month, mainly European and some worldwide travel. You will be expected to be away from home for a few days and occasionally weeks at a time. Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways, including parttime.
