Ajilon Technology Aerospace is looking for a Materials Engineer Project Support for Metallic Materials and Processes for Spacecraft and Launchers E3 for an opportunity at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands Specific tasks to be performed Act as Project focal point with a materials and processes expert role for defined ESA projects, reporting to the Projects Product Assurance and Safety Managers and coordinating with other domains in the Materials and Components Technology Division Carry out Materials and Processes reviews, Materials and Processes Control Boards MPCBs and participate as PA Board Member in ESA Programme reviews milestones Work on key supply chains impacting Space Product development and manufacturing of ESA main Projects while also actively define means of intervention towards major industrial players Perform laboratory evaluations and assessment of a variety of materials e. g. aluminium, titanium, steel, ceramics, glasses, etc. as well as joining techniques and repair welding, bonding, brazing, etc., printed circuit boards and electronic assembly Support major NonConformances Review Board activities, perform failure analysis using a variety of laboratory tools including acoustic microscopy, optical microscopy, confocal microscopy, XRD, XRay, etc. and drafting of related reports Participate to ESA Audit of key industrial players, representing the materials and processes function. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Several years of experience in project support activities including material physical and chemical laboratory investigations with particular emphasis on the task descriptions defined above. Familiarity with relevant ECSS standards and general space product assurance requirements and processes.
