For our customers in Darmstadt we are looking for Copernicus Mission Control System Operations Engineers to support the operations of the Copernicus Mission Control System. For the Sentinel3 mission the activities include routine Sentinel3A operations, as well as special operations for the commissioning phase for Sentinel3B leading to the routine operations phase for the dual satellite system. In the future routine operations of the Sentinel6 mission will also be supported. Tasks and Responsibilities The candidate shall perform mission control system operations Scheduling and coordination of daily operations Monitor the status of the mission control system and perform daily checks to confirm nominal status and performance Monitor the status of the mission control system interfaces to other facilities Perform anomaly investigations Provision of support, as required, to critical andor special operations Contribute to the design, development, documentation and maintenance of mission control operations procedures and of ground segment procedures identified from operational needs Contribute to the design, development, documentation and maintenance of specific toolscripts identified from operational needs Provide expertise in operational ground segment operations Contribute to raising, processing and coordinating anomalies, their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in relevant Anomaly Review Boards Contribute to coordination and implementation of modifications to the mission control system, including their documentation, approval, implementation, testing and training, including participation in Change Review Boards, as well as TRR, TRB, ORR as needed Contribute to the operations boards, technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning coordination meetings. Participate in mission control system operations team meetings and associated activities and reviews where required. Provide oncall support, on an as needed basis. The candidate shall have at least 3 years experience of developing andor maintaining spacecraft mission control systems software The candidate shall have demonstrated experience in the definition and implementation of the verification and validation of spacecraft mission control systems The candidate shall have demonstrated experience with UNIXLinux operating systems The candidate shall be able to communicate effectively in English verbally and written The candidate shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work under pressure and with a minimum of supervision. Furthermore, it would be highly desirable for the candidate to have experience with or knowledge of some of the following experience in the use of databases and SQLrelated querying in relation to spacecraft mission control systems experience in the definition, development, integration and acceptance testing of spacecraft mission control systems experience in the operations preparation and routine operations of Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite systems experience of Oracle databases experience of using configuration management systems such as CVS experience of using satellite simulators familiarity with ECSS and CCSDS standards related to spacetoground interfaces and applicable to Satellite Monitoring Control Systems Packet Telemetry and Telecommand standards, PUS Packet Utilisation Standard, etc. familiarity with flight dynamics and mission planning functions and systems as applied to satellite operations Finally, the candidate shall be able to work in an orderly and disciplined manner, demonstrating analytical approach and attention to detail work calmly and correctly under stress be able to work with the minimum of supervision. be able to work effectively in English.
