This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Mission Control System MICONYS Development Engineer 1623186 Job Description We are looking for a MCS Development Engineer to support our client ESA based at their ESOC site in Darmstadt. You will be responsible for Contributing to the definition of processestooling supporting the EGOSCC Development activities Collecting technical requirements to contribute to the EGOSCC system level design activities Collecting technical requirements in order to contribute to the EGOSCC system level integration and validation activities Defining technical guidelines for developers of EGOSCC Components Contributing to the technical definition of the design model for EGOSCC Components, with particular focus to the ones required by the MICONYSCC Product Contributing to the verification of the design and implementation of relevant EGSCC Components Developing reference EGOSCC Components, to be adopted as templates for the development of MICONYSCC Core components Contributing to the development of selected MICONYSCC Core components, according to their agreed specification Contributing to the verification of compliance of MICONYSCC Core components to the applicable specification You will deliver Technical notes defining the development guidelines for EGOSCC Components Design model of MICONYSCC Components Reference implementations for EGOSCC Components MICONYSCC Core components Automated component level validation tests for MICONYSCC Components Documentation of any identified software problem in the relevant SPR database Informal reports e.g. emails reporting the main outputs of the validation and troubleshooting activities Required Skills and Experience You will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience Master degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline Excellent knowledge of the Java language, preferably with an official Oracle certification Concrete understanding of the principles of component based software engineering Good working knowledge of the following Java frameworks OSGi, Blueprint, Maven Good working knowledge of the Eclipse development environment Desirable Skills and Experience Prior knowledge of the EGSCC Prior knowledge of the ESOC Mission Control System infrastructure is highly desirable Experience in working in a team Familiarity with the ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS Knowledge of satellite or ground operations, or nonspace operational environments Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 01 November 2016 Start of Work January 2017 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
