The NOC Technician will be part of an integrated team which provides 247 monitoring and control of Telemetry, Tracking and Command TTC stations of the ESTRACK ground station network, Operational IT and Operational Control Centre services at ESAs European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Be the liaison for spacecraft and mission operations engineers as well as NOC support group staff on duty to establish and continuously maintain a comprehensive overview on the availability of and the demand for utilization of resources provided by the ground segment facilities. Act as a focal point for collecting and processing information about incidents at ground stations and OCC facilities. Advice Ground station operatorscontrollers of external agencies or industry about the support requirements for forthcoming satellite passes and approve the implementation. Maintain logical data links between a spacecraft control system and the subsystems at ground stations. Monitor the uplink transmission from ESTRACK ground stations for conformance with the frequency license for the respective ground station. Generate incident and anomaly problem reports. Supervise automated execution of all scheduled support activities as well as coordinate the execution of nonscheduled activities while continuously monitoring and control ground stations performances and configurations. Second or third line support units. Trouble shooting incident and problem activities, complemented by the submission and followup of Anomaly Reports. Follow the escalation e.g. for security incidents, major operations incidents endangering e.g. human or spacecraft safety and callout procedures as provided by the Agency. Maintained the log file on operational events and operators execution e.g. OSPMS. Compile a Daily Incident Log DIL distribute it accordingly using the Operational Service Provision Management System OSPMS. Initiate configuration changes nominal routine operations as well as exceptional, troubleshooting or recovery activities andor manual change while also justify it in the OSPMS following the relevant procedures with the authorization of the staff in charge. File and process all Incomingoutgoing Operational Messages OMS such as Scheduling Messages OMS11, Pass Reports OMS20 and Equipment Status Change Reports OMS26. Compile, edit and distribute all Operational Messages and activity reports. Support advanced investigation on incident during working days. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Bachelor or Master degree in relevant field You have experience with remote operations of a network of unmanned satellite ground stations or with local operations and maintenance of a manned satellite ground station You have a sound understanding of ESTRACK ground stations functionality, configurations requirements, and operations constraints You have a demonstrated knowledge of IT networking WANLAN concepts, technology and troubleshooting You have knowledge of Local and Wide Area Network Intranet, Internet communications You have a good understanding of IT security concepts, technology and best practices You have good knowledge of VMS, Unix, Console Works, NetBackup, CDROM production, CiscoWorks, HPOV, CISCO Firewalls, QIP, MS Windows operating systems, ITSM tools PC literacy MS Office Products, Lotus Notes You have knowledge of ITIL , certification is a plus You are fluent in English spoken and written You are familiar with operational environments You are familiar with ESOC environment is considered an advantage How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
