This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Navigation Operations Service Engineer 2nd Opening 1623151 Job Description We are looking for a Navigation Operations Engineer for our client ESA based at their ESOC site. You will be part of the Navigation Office, with your primary area of activity being in Operations, providing support to GRAS GSN, Fugro Galileo SLA, Galileo and Sentinel. You will also be required to support other mission. Your tasks will include, but not be limited to Updateproduction of specific deliverable documentation e.g. Technical Notes, software documentation, design documentation, interface definitions in liaison with other ground segment teams, etc. as needed Contribution to different documents on request Services and products project specific Required Skills and Experience University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics Develop solutions to technical mathematical and dynamical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts Proficiency in Unix andor Linux, shell scripting languages, Fortran 77 andor 95, C andor C to be able to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions At least 2 years of experience in an Navigation like operational environment. Very good knowledge of system operations automated and manual Very good knowledge of procedures development, implementation and application Very good knowledge of UTC, time synchronisation and related operations Good knowledge in GNSS systems and data processing Knowledge or interest in algorithm and SW development Good expertise of OracleSUNSolaris and PCLinux, network services and protocols, and computer peripherals OnCall availability, when applicable, shall be ensured via mobile phone ESAprovided outside normal working hours including weekends and bank holidays for periods of 7 days length. Knowledge of, and experience in Configuration Management, Information Security Management and Quality Assurance Willing to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarityexperience with Navigation operations engineering tasks Experience dealing with external interfaces The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously.
