Tasks The key person shall provide support to the Low Earth Orbit and Geostationary programs operations teams including MTP, MSG, EPS, Jason23 and future operational programmes including Sentinel3, EPSSG, MTG and JasonCS, through the definition and implementation of comprehensive training regimes tailored to the needs of the individual team roles. The key person will coordinate all training needs, including initial familiarisation training as well as ongoing continuity training, for all levels within the operations preparation and operations teams controllers, analysts, engineers and operations management. The role comprises a range of tasks including the assessment of training needs for all team roles, definition of a training policy and associated plans to cover these needs, implementation of training and assessment of the efficacy of training provided. Continuous review of the training policy and its implementation will be performed by the key person in order to ensure the operations teams are at optimal operations readiness, and that the training needs of future programs or resulting from ongoing OPS projects are satisfactorily addressed. The tasks of the key person will typically include In coordination with the System Operations Manager and OPS QA, maintain the Operations Department Training Policy to be used as a guide in the definition, implementation and subsequent assessment of training. This should address the initial training of new team members, preparatory training of the existing team required to address ongoing OPS projects and new operational programs, and continuity training of the existing team to ensure optimal proficiency, as well as specific training for system evolutions In cooperation with the various team leaders across clients operational programs, maintain the definition of the specific training requirements for the various team roles and across the various program operations teams Assess the training needs for individual team members based on their roles and the associated training requirements Define and maintain Training Plans to address the needs of various team members in areas both programspecific and crossprogram. This should define the overall training objectives and make use of available training methods most appropriate to the topics covered and the designated trainees Manage the implementation of individual training activities, including identification of a training provider either internal or external coordination with the training provider on the definition and preparation of training arranging for training venues and aids, reproduction of training materials, etc coordination of the training schedule preparing and presenting training where applicable Support the Operations Controller Team leaders in the definition, preparation and implementation of initial training for new Controller Team members leading to their assessment and certification and proficiency training to maintain the efficiency of the existing Controller Teams Maintain a Training Database as required to record the preparation and implementation status of training courses, the allocation to and performance of trainees in specific training activities, etc. Assess the performance of training activities to determine the effectiveness of training provided and provide feedback to optimise future training activities Against training objectives defined in the relevant Training Plan, assess if trainees have achieved the required level of knowledge and understanding to satisfactorily perform operations Monitor the performance of operations in order to identify any areas, for example observed team errors, where additional training may be required in order to maintain operational readiness Ensure all training materials are maintained up to date through regular audits and reviews Ensure all training materials are readily accessible via the Document Management System and Intranet
