Can you apply your knowledge of satellite systems and their operations to provide high quality training services on current and next generation satellite systems? The role We are looking for an experienced engineering trainer to establish and maintain a departmental training plan addressing the needs of our teams for current and next generation satellite systems. We need a training specification for each team member, with a plan of how training activities are going to be sourced and executed. You will need to define, prepare and support the delivery of training to our Controller team members that allows them to achieve certification and maintain their efficiency, recording training results in our database. This is a fastpaced environment, so training materials need to be kept up to date and must remain relevant to our satellite missions. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of planning, managing and implementing technical training. You must understand the full range of training tools and techniques and be capable of creating elearning content. You will work with internal and external training providers, but you also need the ability to prepare training materials and to deliver content confidently yourself. Quality assurance is key, so we will expect you to evaluate outcomes to ensure that our training provision maintains operational efficiency. The key person will coordinate all training needs, including initial familiarisation training as well as ongoing continuity training, for all levels within the operations preparation and operations teams controllers, analysts, engineers and operations management. The role comprises a range of tasks including the assessment of training needs for all team roles, definition of a training policy and associated plans to cover these needs, implementation of training and assessment of the efficacy of training provided. Continuous review of the training policy and its implementation will be performed by the key person in order to ensure the operations teams are at optimal operations readiness, and that the training needs of future programs or resulting from ongoing OPS projects are satisfactorily addressed. The tasks of the key person will typically include In coordination with the System Operations Manager and OPS QA, maintain the Operations Department Training Policy to be used as a guide in the definition, implementation and subsequent assessment of training. Experience of spacecraft and their control systems, mission ground segments, and their 247 operations Experience of Operation Preparation and procurement phases for new programmes.
