For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for an Optical OptoElectronics Engineer. Tasks and Responsibilities Proactive planning, implementation and execution of experimentsmeasurements Analysis, evaluation, reporting and interpretation of measurement dataresults Provision of expert advice on optics, laser, detectors and photonics. Verification methods in support to ESA projects and technology RD Daytoday operation and maintenance of the laboratory, comprising general maintenance and servicing of photonics and optoelectronics measurement equipment Procurement of laboratory materials, components, equipment as appropriate for the operation of the laboratory Stock and equipment inventory tracking Maintaining laboratory logbooks. Requirements Education Master level degree in applied physics, electrical engineering or photonics. Experience level Young professional. Team spirit and positive, result oriented work attitude Good technical assessment capabilities and solid communication skills in English language verbal and in writing Motivation for continuously acquiring new skills, partially autodidactic, to adapt to a changing laboratory environment Minimum of 1 years of practical laboratory experience in the design, development and verification of optoelectronic system, including high energy lasers, vacuum technology, numerical measurement analysis and associated engineering software tools i.e. LabView, Matlab, Python Experience in designing and implementing new measurement methodssetups Good knowledge of measurement uncertainty analysis Knowledge in environmental testing of space hardware is an asset.
