OPTICAL PAYLOAD SYSTEM ENGINEER Function You will be a member of a multidisciplinary team active in the design and development of innovative earth observation systems small satellite andor UAV based. You will be involved in the following activities Definition and conceptual design of multihyperspectral optical instruments based on stateoftheart technologies, matching the mission and system requirements to the enduser application requirements. Endtoend system performance studies to assess the feasibility of new instrument concepts for applications in the field of vegetation, agriculture, environmental and disaster monitoring. Followup and intensive collaboration with industrial partners Review and approve test plans for subsystem and system level test campaigns Contribution to proposal writing and project reporting in national and international RD projects ESA, H2020, Profile The expert has a Master degree and in depth knowledge and proven record in space or airborne instrument design projects. The expert should be able to communicate orally and in writing effectively in English knowledge of Dutch, French is an asset. Heshe should be openminded, teamoriented and solution oriented. In depth knowledge of remote sensing instrument technologies optical systems and filters, image sensors, camera systems, and calibrationvalidation methods. Knowledge of EO image processing and applications is considered an asset. Practical programming skills are required for simulation and data analysis purposes e.g. CC, Java, Matlab, IDL, Labview, Knowledge of optical payload design SW Zemax, CodeV, Offer A position in an eminent clientoriented organization, in the area of innovative technology research and sciencebacked consulting.
