HE Space is a successful international space company. For nearly 40 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for an Orbit Operations Engineer for Earth Explorers to support our customer in Germany. Orbit Operations Engineer for Earth Explorers Key Tasks and Responsibilities The post holder will be primarily responsible for the routine orbit operations of Earth Explorers Aeolus, Cryosat and Swarm. Tasks may also be requested related to Earth Explorers in preparation phase Biomass, FLEX and other Earth orbiting missions. You will have the following responsibilities Orbit Determination, Prediction and Products Generation Execution of and support to operational tasks Processing of tracking data Determination and prediction of spacecraft orbital state Generation of orbit related products such as orbit event predictions Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer Flight Dynamics System Development Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration Coordination of internal and external interfaces and activities across subsystems General Flight Dynamics operations engineering activities. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics Familiarityexperience with Spacecraft Flight Dynamics Ability to develop solutions to technical mathematical and dynamical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions using e.g. Linux scripting languages, Fortran 90 and C Ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Ability to work independently Experience with Linux, network services and protocols, and system administration Ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
