SUMMARY OF 900 AM MDT...1500 UTC...INFORMATION ---------------------------------------------- LOCATION...23.6N 114.6W ABOUT 300 MI...485 KM W OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF BAJA CALIFORNIA MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...35 MPH...55 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...NNW OR 340 DEGREES AT 7 MPH...11 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...1005 MB...29.68 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Kevin was located near latitude 23.6 North, longitude 114.6 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the north-northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). A turn toward the northwest is expected later today. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Further weakening is expected, and the remnant low is forecast to dissipate on Sunday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
