Additionally, Terma is contracted for the development and delivery of software and hardware systems and services for numerous ongoing and future European, and international missions. Terma Space operates out of Denmark, The Netherlands, France, Germany, the UK and France. Job description We are seeking an experienced Product Assurance Safety Engineer to support Terma BV space sector customers in the Netherlands. Responsibilities The role will be to provide support in the context of European Space Agency ESA projects. Typically these will be Earth Observation and Space Science projects. The task involves supporting the product assurance activities related typically to the phase CD of ESA projects and associated reviews including safety reviews that occur during these phases. In particular, this will involve participation to the design, manufacturing, integration and test activities, e.g. preliminarycritical design reviews PDRCDRs, manufacturing readiness reviews MRR, mandatory inspection points MIPs, test readiness reviews TRRs, posttest reviews PTRs. You will Support customer project Product Assurance Safety Managers in all activities related to the execution of the Product Assurance Programme on the assigned project. Deputise for the PAS Manager as required Support the Risk Management and Configuration Management processes within the project, including the disposition of Request for Deviations and Request for Waivers RFDs RFWs Support the PAS Manager to ensure the effective implementation and execution of the nonconformance identification and reporting mechanisms within the contractor supply chain and confirm the correct and formal closure of nonconformances Support the Satellite Instrument industrial Primes in monitoring the manufacturing, integration and test activities using manufacturing readiness reviews MRR, mandatory inspection points MIPs, test readiness reviews TRRs, test review boards TRBs Assist the PAS Manager in ensuring that all formally delivered items within the project supply chain conform with requirements using formal acceptance reviews Delivery Review Boards DRBs Produce reports on project and review activities, including conclusions and recommendations where necessary, participating in progress meetings when needed and reporting on project PA status. Extensive travel within Europe to spacecraft integration sites is expected e.g. to witness tests and attend review meetings. Potentially longer duration missions in support of Launch Campaign activities may be required. This is a full time position located in the vicinity of Leiden, The Netherlands. The expected start of work is October 2018. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate will have A Masters level degree in an engineering discipline or the technical sciences. A minimum of 5 years experience in the space sector including in Product and Quality Assurance. Good knowledge of the applicable space standards ECSS. Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 would be an asset. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree of organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment. Prior experience of space projects andor experience in similar complex missioncritical projects would be an advantage. Ability for frequent travel. What can Terma Offer?
