The successful candidate will join the RF Payload Engineering Department. Within the testAIT workshop RFpayloadOptical engineering team, the candidate will participate in preparing and supporting system and functional tests for the payload and telemetry, command and ranging subsystems for telecom satellites. Your main tasks will include defining the measurement techniques and methods in cooperation with the RF AIT managers and project architects developing the software applications and automatic RF measurement and test procedures defining and setting up measuring equipment steering tools adapting the payload test software to the satellite AIT development and validation phases, in close cooperation with the Portsmouth AIT team providing inservice support for test software applications correcting anomalies, managing requests for upgrades providing online support for operations debugging simulator andor satellite sequences, providing telephone or onsite support training the engineering and operations teams in the tools in place and capitalising on this technical notes, user manual, training course Potential additional activities test engineering writing test plans, procedures and reports possible upgrade to team coordination activities Travel to Portsmouth to coordinate activities with AIT UK and the launch site 15 days may be required and must be planned for accordingly, on a volunteer basis. As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience Engineering or university equivalent 5year degree in the telecommunications field, Experience of at least 3 years in RF measurements Good general skills in the hyperfrequency domain Basic knowledge of RF measurement bench architecture hyper frequency measurement instruments, test performance HMI, etc. Knowledge of and experience in software development tools ClearCase, SVN, etc. Knowledge of test oriented development environments Labview, Testand Knowledge of programming languages, particularly C, Java, VB Knowledge of and experience in office automation tools Word, Excel, Access Good database management Microsoft SQL server, Access Operating skills thorough technical approach, compliance with test deadline and cost imperatives, good team player, excellent communication skills, synthesis skills, good team coordination abilities An advanced level of English and French Please apply online.
