We are now looking to hire a Real Time Engineer for our Space Operations team Employment Type FullTime Regular Required Experience A minimum of 2 years of technical and handson application experience in the Satellite Required Education Bachelors of Science in an Engineering discipline Department Name Space Operations Reporting To Lead System Engineer Working Location Manassas, Virginia Travel Required Yes, up to 30 of the time Role Description The objective of Real Time Engineer RTE is to provide 247 state of health assessment of the satellites, operational technical support and coordination of level 0 initial anomaly response. Responsibilities Space Vehicle State of Health SOH Assessment on 247 basis Review in and out of contact telemetry and alarms to assess the SOH of the satellite. Perform SOH checks at the start, during and end of the contact to include Payload configuration, alarms, limits, asynchronous messages, etc Operational Technical Support Space vehicle engineering support to address any questionissueconcern elevated by the flight operations team. Directly supporting the satellite operations staff to diagnose problems during anomaly resolution. Responsible for facilitating the execution of the recovery solution with the Ops team Work with the Satellite Controllers in implementing any new changes to procedures based on the resolution to an issue. Required Competencies Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English Patience and tenacity to work with others with English as a second language Proven ability to smoothly organize and apply structure to potentially chaotic and confusing situations such as may occur in a development environment Demonstrated performance as a reliable team player SelfStarter with a high level of personal accountability Ability to travel internationally at up to 30 of the time, potentially more for limited periods Operations area showing steady increase in overall responsibility Specific experience successfully working with and within large organizational infrastructures Other ad hoc responsibilities, as assigned by the line manager Note All applicants for permanent positions at O3b Networks are subject to reference and background screening.
