A new-year crackdown on deceptive price advertising by real estate agents following the passage of new laws has revealed the practice remains widespread, particularly in Sydney's west. The compliance operation carried out by the Department of Fair Trading between January 4 and 8 detected 176 "cases of non-compliance" with the new advertising laws introduced from January 1 as part of legislation to deter under-quoting.
