University of Surrey Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences Surrey Space Centre Research Fellow Systems and Avonics Engineer II The Surrey Space Centre SSC, part of the Department of Electronic Engineering, is a worldclass institution for space research. The successful candidate will join one of the largest space systems groups in Europe under the guidance of Professor Vaios Lappas. One of SSCs projects is RemoveDebris, expected to demonstrate the first successful capture of debris in space utilising a net and harpoon. The Research Fellow is expected to additionally work on other related ESA, EU and industrially funded space projects. This 12 month post ideally requires somebody with 3 years experience in CubeSat microsatellite bussubsystem design. The candidate will have good knowledge of ADCS AOCS, communication systems, EPS power systems, solar panels, OBCs, thermal systems, systems integration and ideally will have worked on an active satellite mission in this capacity. In addition, the candidate will have knowledge of procurement, manufacture, experimental setup, testing and some knowledge on assembly, integration, testing AIT.
