HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a Rosetta Science Operations Archive Engineer to support our customer in Spain. Rosetta Science Operations Archive Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Rosetta Science Operations team, you will have the following responsibilities Support the creation of observation sequences from the requests provided by the PI teams Using the applicable software, develop a proposal for a schedule of observations Iterate on the collection of the short and mediumterm planning inputs from the PI teams Using the ASPEN, EPS, MAPPS and other software tools, check the PI input for correctness Support, where required, specific PI teams in the generation of their STP and MTP level products Support the creation of and delivery to the MOC and RMOC of the consolidated operational requests in the form of Pointing Requests PTR and Payload Operational Request POR files Support any iterationsupdates of the operational requests with the RMOC Interact with the Downlink Science Operations Manager and Project Scientist to ensure that Rosetta archive needs are addressed in the area of general PDS and PSA software development Interact with the PSA Software developer to check the correct implementation of user requirements Aid in the validation of PSA software specific to the Rosetta mission, including DVAL, PRVV APC, Archie interface Interact with the PDS for issues specific to the Rosetta mission archive Interact with and provide support to the PI teams in the area of archive product generation, delivery validation Support the archive product validation process including reviews. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent qualification in science, engineering Knowledge of astronomical instrumentation, acquired through astronomical instrument hardware development andor intensive astronomical data reduction exercise Experience and understanding of farinfrared instruments is a distinct advantage Experience in interacting with the scientific community Interest in performing science research with the mission data would be an asset Knowledge of Rosetta and its operations would be an asset Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located near Madrid.
