JOB DESCRIPTION GMV is looking for a highly motivated SOFTWARE SYSTEMS ENGINEER for the development and operation of the Spanish Space Surveillance and Tracking S3T system. This system is the Spanish contribution to the programme on Space Debris of the European Union. The system warns operators about potential collisions involving theirs satellites and informs civil protection authorities on satellites about to reenter and fall onground. EUMETSAT the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites is an intergovernmental organisation which provides weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The data generated by EUMETSATs satellite systems and the derived products are supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisations Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as to other users worldwide. The goal of this position is to migrate EUMETSAT programme specific Ground Segments to the Data Services Multi Mission Elements, delivering data services, service management, requirements management, and validation and verification activities, alongside with the specification of Service Level Agreements. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage system and software requirements and interfaces for Data Services Design Data Services Integrate and Test Data Services REQUIRED EXPERIENCE minimum of five years of working experience in the specific field of system engineering, such as user requirements assessment, system architecture definition, background knowledge in development activities and experience of being directly involved in the evolution of systems or services in a highlyavailable 247 environment. Experience in the following areas, ideally in the context of data services systems Java IT Service Management frameworks and standards e.g. ITIL. Service declarations, service measurements and reporting applicable to system level. Requirements management. Strong ability to translate customer and technical requirements into appropriate service specifications and technical design. Systems architecture covering areas such as virtualization, cloud computing, orchestration, hosted processing, high availability, capacity, scalability, security Formalised Software Testing.
