This vacancy note concerns a consulting position at ESTEC in the Netherlands. Satellite System Engineer CHESTEC13006 Job Description The postholder will support the Head of the Tertiary Education Unit for the coordination of education satellite projects throughout all phases of their lifecycle. The current education satellite projects include the European Student Earth Orbiter ESEO and CubeSats. Specifically the postholder will coordinate the involved project teams and will provide system engineering support. The postholder will monitor the technical baseline of the relevant projects, and review the project documentation to ensure compliance with requirements, applicable standards, and good space engineering practice. The postholder will support and review the satellite AIV Assembly, Integration and Verification campaigns, and the launch interfacing and campaigns as well as the preparation and conduct of project meetings, project reviews, test campaigns, and of workshops or conferences. The postholder will liaise with the Young Graduate Trainees involved in the satellite projects of the Education Office, and support the Head of the Tertiary Education Unit for their coordination, as well as with the colleagues of the Education Office in charge of Outreach coordination, to the scope of supporting the outreach initiatives on the ESA education satellites. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in relevant field Good system engineering skills in space systems Be well organized and show a good sense of initiative Shall be able to coordinate effectively work contributions from several different parties Shall possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders ESA, industry, academia and students. Good previous experience in the technical supervision of space projects Fluency in English.
