Discover the offer below and apply quickly to become our future Science Operations Engineer Job Description Excellent Salary Corporate Benefits Package Relocation Assistance if applicable Further information available from the Serco Europe Recruitment Team Main Responsibilities As Science Operations Engineer you will concentrate your activities on the following Contribute to procedure writing and the implementation of those procedures. Follow procedures and operate Mission SOC pipeline Systems. Test SOC systems for the daily processing of raw spacecraft data. Test SOC systems for the generation of payload operations requests. Participate in the optimization of software processing. Gather operational constraints for software running at SOC. Interact appropriately with and support the providers of all software SOC systems. Interact appropriately with users of the pipeline data products and external stakeholders. Assist in the automation of SOC procedures. Contribute to the maintenance of the overall system, including configuration control and versioning. Report on operational activities including the gathering and presentation of processing summary statistics. Successful Candidate Experience in operating large and distributed data processing systems. Past astronomical instrument or spacecraft support with a major international space or ground based observatory. Support to the professional astronomical community for a spacebased mission. Use of space based scientific data in support of science research. Knowledgeable with systems that provide access and store telemetry and ancillary mission data. Experience in providing support and interacting with instrument scientists and engineers. Experience on ESA Ground Segment software engineering processes, in particular ECSS standards. Subversion. JIRA and Confluence. Jupyter Notebook. Experience with testing frameworks. Large Databasesdata processing 1TB.
