Summary An opportunity for an experienced Security Satcom EngineerCryptographer to work onsite at ESTEC in the Institutional and European Program Office in the Telecommunications Directorate for Telespazio VEGA UK. Objective To contribute as technical lead support for all securityrelated matters with respect to programme preparation and projects of TIATIS, including the ScyLight Programme including QKD, the EDRSGlobeNet Phase CDE1 Preparation. Furthermore tto contribute as technical lead support for all securityrelated matters with respect to other TIATI and TIAT programmes and projects, including the ESA GovSatCom Precursor implementation, GOVSATCOM demonstration programme activities with EDA, support to EU GOVSATCOM preparations, IRIS for air traffic management, and as required security aspects of 5G. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to EndtoEnd Telecom and SatCom Network and CyberSecurity Secure hosted payload concepts and Secure TTC links Security Accreditation and certification processes Cryptography Spread Spectrum Data Link Security Cryptographic Processors Secure Key Distribution and Management Concepts including Quantum Cryptography Technologies and Key Distribution Securityrelated aspects of Air Traffic Management Systems, including spacebased ones. Physical and information security of the programmes and activities Security System Engineering requirements phase, implementation and validation certification stage Support to the security certification and accreditation process definition, followup of implementation Specific engineering support to space projects developed by ESA andor by major European industriesoperators, including in cooperation with EU institutions and including handling of classified information Design, implementation and testing tasks for technological projects Validation of designs by means of analyses, simulations, laboratory testing and field trials possibly in cooperation with third parties Assistance in preparation of invitation to tenders related to ESA RD and implementation activities and contracts technical followup Cyberthreat model characterization identify explore attacks that are able to compromise an endtoend network, Vulnerability analysis, Risks analysis and mitigation plan Qualifications Experience At least Masters degree or equivalent qualification in a telecommunications engineering andor computer science or engineering subject At least 4 years of experience in security system engineering, including cryptography Specific experience in security certification and accreditation processes Specific experience in cybersecurity, system threat analysis and security testing and validation tools Specific experience in Internet, secure IP and applicationsnetworking technologies Security Clearance granted by an ESA Member State, valid or previous Familiarity with modern networking simulation tools would be a desirable asset Knowledge in Quantum Cryptography technologies would be a desirable asset Familiarity with TTC transmission techniques together with the main related CCSDS standards, would be a desirable asset Familiarity with stateofthe art security concepts security for Information Centric network, Blockchain etc would be a desirable asset Essential Skills Good English language skills Knowledge of an additional member state language would be a strong asset. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present and effectively communicate quality system processes. Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment.
