This position, based near Frankfurt in Germany, calls for experience of IT system security engineering. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. Vast quantities of data are produced and user communities throughout the world are able to access both current and historical data sets. The demanding realtime environment places much emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures. The main working language is English. The jobholder will Perform the book captaincy role for information security management system documents Support the establishment and maintenance of Interconnect Security Agreements with partners Review changes to existing systems for adherence to the security policy and associated procedures Provide relevant security requirements for new programmes andor major procurements Organise, support and evaluate periodic internal audits or security audits performed by external entities Organise, support and minute the activities of the Security Steering Committee, identify and followup security vulnerabilities in operational systems In the case of security vulnerabilities ensure that corrective actions or security controls are implemented Establish processes and procedures to monitor secure communications over nonsecure links Coordinate the installation and configuring of packages to support prevention, detection and response to security threats Provide training to Operations and Technical support staff concerning operational security Maintain appropriate contacts with special interest groups or other specialist security forums and professional associations shall be maintained The key experience and attributes sought are A minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Operational System Security Engineering ISOIEC 270022005 Information technology Security techniques Code of practice for information security management Network security solutions and architectures Cisco ASA, FWSM, IPSEC VPN, TACACS, nmap The installation, maintenance and use of security related software packages e.g. Log analysis tools, antivirus tools, Intrusion Detection Systems e.g. Snort, ISMS support tools e.g. Gstool, Application vulnerability tools e.g. acunetix Experience of performing the tasks listed above in 247 highavailability operations environments Knowledge of some of the following would be advantageous Change management. Microsoft Office suite, including MSVisio. Candidates should possess a University degree or equivalent. Fluency in English is essential. This is a freelance contract assignment with an initial period of 3 years starting in May 2013 with two options to extend for further periods of one year each.
