RHEA is currently recruiting a Senior IT Systems Engineer to support the ground systems department within the Earth Observation, Navigation and Science directorate at our clients premises in Portsmouth, UK. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Integration and support of the End to End system and deployment of an operational spacecraft control centre. Perform tradeoff analyses. Produce formal design documentation. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory At least 4 years of experience from a Large Enterprise, Service provider or Financial establishment. Expert in Linux administration skills, understanding of scripting, Storage Networking data Networking. A strong background and proven experience in an integration andor deployment environment working with large scale critical systems Experience of porting applications between different versions of Linux, experience of configuring and installing VMware Experience with a large enterprise service provider providing high end systems e.g. datacenter, hosting, finance The following skills would be highly desirable Detailed knowledge of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Experience in VMWare ESX, previous experience of virtualised system deployment and configuration, Bespoke Linux Kernel builds, Hardening of Linux servers VMware.
