Levering on the technical expertise accumulated within the Group by operating satellites for more than 20 years, it provides technical services to the Satellite Industry on a worldwide basis. The position of Senior Software Product Engineer at SES TechCom is directly responsible for the SES Techcom services software products lifecycle. This includes software design, specification and verification as well as product development, release and evolution. The growing product portfolio ranges from ground station monitoring and control solutions, through data dissemination services, to turnkey disasterrelief and remotearea communication systems. Responsibilities Improve existing and develop new best practices for software development, continuous integration and product evolution Lead software product development including concept, design, specification, development, integration, release and maintenance Organize, supervise and coordinate onsite and offsite development teams in coordination with project managers Supervise design, system architecture and development work, necessary for product implementation, including project control functions Provide support to Sales department for the presales activities presales engineering Define future technology requirements in close cooperation with sales and other SES group companies Followup technology development in the field and make recommendations to management regarding evolution of TechCom services and products Provide technical recommendations and expertise to the management in the area of software product development Perform other tasks as required. ExperiencesQualifications University degree and a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in telecommunications and computer science Tangible knowledge in medium to large scale software design, continuous integration, and product development best practices Indepth knowledge of the following technologies is required TCPIP communication and routing protocols Java related technologies, especially J2EE and related frameworks Relational databases and data replication solutions HTML5, CSS3 and javascript frameworks Experience in satelliterelated or MPEGDVB projects would be an asset Experience is leading or working for crossfunctional and remote project teams Good communication skills and ability to interface at different level of the organisation Strong analytical sense Very good coordination and priority setting facilities, Problem perception, assessment and solving Autonomy and team work, Flexibility Readiness to travel internationally Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset.
