A vacancy for a Senior Systems Engineer Galileo Ground Control Systems has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Portsmouth. The successful applicant will be responsible to design, procure, deploy and verify the satellite flight operations system for the Galileo constellation. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Systems Engineering and will take on significant responsibilities within the design team for Galileo GCS. The successful candidate will be subject to security clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Requirements analysis and functional decomposition Delivery of incremental systems design and baseline design for some component solutions Technical analysis of system design issues Performance budgeting Interface definition Authoring of technical specifications. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Proven experience in Systems engineering, Satellite Flight Operations System and infrastructure Proven experience in Design of Satellite Ground Control System Proven experience in Software Architecture with previous experience as a Lead Designer on a Software System Experience of SCOS2000 Requirements engineering Knowledge of Flight Data Systems, Telemetry datarealtime engineering data Understanding of virtualization Knowledge of UMLSysML.
