RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES Support the Sentinel3 Operations with respect to EUMETSATs Marine Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS in particular anomaly correction and software release process maintenance and necessary evolutions, including the necessary coordination with the data processing systems engineering and the multimission element engineers for the related interfaces with the rest of the Sentinel3 ground segment. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE A degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or equivalent is beneficial Minimum 3 years experience in testing and maintenance of Earth Observation satellite data formats such as NetCDF. ESSENTIAL SKILLS experience in testing and maintaining product formats and formatters, test data and tests tools for large scale software systems missioninstrument data processing related. Experience in engineering evolutions of such software, test data and tools Knowledge and experience of software development lifecycles, system testing for Earth observation systems and use of test data and tools for supporting this Knowledge and experience is required of formats and associated formatters used in Earth observation e.g. netCDF for marine applications and also used in other communities including HDF, BUFR and GRIB Good knowledge of CCJava programming language experience in a UNIXLinux based environment Good knowledge of Scripting languages e.g. Python, Perl, TclTk, shell Fluency in English DESIRABLE SKILLS Good knowledge of XML and related technologies e.g. XPATH, SVG BENEFITS Competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package including 30 days holiday, generous training possibilities, Telespazio VEGA Deutschland pension scheme is offered to the successful candidate.
