Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, CNES and EUMETSAT. This is an opportunity for a System engineer with minimum five years experience of Ground System Operations in a realtime LEO spacecraft operations environment to support System and Services Operations of the EUMETSATs Copernicus Sentinel3 Ground Segment. This position is based in Germany, Darmstadt fully on customer side in EUMETSAT. The position is unlimited and will start around October 2015. Submission deadline for applications is 30th of August 2015. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES Support to the operation and evolution of the S3 Ground System, including System operations in a realtime operations environment Endtoend operations monitoring Operational interfaces within the ground segment, and to external partners, including maintenance of operational documentation JORP, OICDs, procedures etc. Communications systems operations Security operations Infrastructure operations and evolution Multimission operations, including mass storage and archiving System Evolutions Manual and Automated system and satellite operations including planning and scheduling. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE A degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or equivalent is beneficial System engineer with minimum five years experience of Ground System Operations in a realtime LEO spacecraft operations environment ESSENTIAL SKILLS at least five years experience of System Operations in a realtime LEO spacecraft operations environment at least five years work experience defining and implementing the verification and validation of ground segment systems at least three years work experience defining, integration, acceptance testing and operation of mission data systems at least three years experience in the definition and maintenance of operational interfaces at least three years work experience in project and technical management or coordination Fluency in English DESIRABLE SKILLS Earth Observation ground segments experience of communications systems operations experience of operations security experience of coordination of systems development and upgrades within a 2417 operations environment Windows Linux operating systems.
