Solenix is specialized in the provision of highquality software engineering, technical consulting and operations services in aerospace. This vacancy note concerns a consulting position at ESAC in Madrid, Spain. Software Engineer for Science Data Processing CHESAC13005 Job Description The ESAC team is forming Gaias Science Operations Centre SOC and is heavily involved in Gaia Data Processing and Analysis especially in the overall architecture and the core processing. The processing is distributed over five locations and ESAC will form the hub for data exchange via the Main Database. This main database will form the input for all processing and will be augmented with the output of all processing to arrive at a new version. The candidate should be aware of required documentation for a large project. Experience working with large data volumes, ICDs, data dictionaries would be an asset. A scientific background is a strong advantage. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related fields ECSS standards for software development Strong skills in Java, including JDK 1.7 RMI Generics OO design Distributed processing Numerical programming in Java JUnit Eclipse Ant JDBC DBMS interaction Subversion Large Databasesdata processing 1TB Fluency in English.
