Spacecraft Operations Engineer Copernicus Sentinel1, Sentinel2 mf Ref.Nr. 158548 The Mission The Sentinel1 and Sentinel2 missions are part of Europes Copernicus Earth observation space program. The first in the series, Sentinel1, carries an advanced radar instrument to provide an allweather, dayandnight supply of imagery of Earths surface. The first of two spacecraft was launched in 2014. The second, Sentinel2, is a polarorbiting, multispectral highresolution imaging mission for land monitoring to provide, for example, imagery of vegetation, soil and water cover, inland waterways and coastal areas. Sentinel2 will also deliver information for emergency services. Sentine1 and Sentinel2 spacecraft will be operated from ESOC, in Darmstadt, Germany. More information on the Copernicus missions can be found here httpwww.esa.intOurActivitiesObservingtheEarthCopernicus. The Challenge We are looking for a qualified Spacecraft Operations Engineers SOE to be part of the flight control teams supporting Sentinel1 and Sentinel2 spacecraft operations engineering services. The tasks to be performed are those typical for a spacecraft operations engineer, which include familiarizing with the mission characteristics, defining requirements for flight control systems, preparing and validating flight control procedures, validating ground systems used for operations, participating in spacecraft interface tests, and spacecraft performance analysis.
