This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Spacecraft Operations Engineer for AEOLUS 1923040 Job Description We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support our customer ESA with the activities related to the AELOUS mission. The main area of responsibility of the selected engineer will be the payload chain, which includes the insitu Cleaning System, the interfaces with the Mission Planning system and the interfaces with industry and other external teams PDGS, scientists. The selected engineer will work in close coordination with the prime payload and ICS engineers. Throughout the duration of the support, the engineer may be involved in additional systems and subsystems and also other Earth Observation missions. The main activities include Maintenance and preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Support to the general routine activities of the mission Mission Planning, documentation maintenance, satellite and ground systems anomaly investigation. Acquisition and maintenance of general satellite knowledge and procedures, participating in the oncall engineer service rotation. General Flight Control Support Service Spacecraft Performance Analysis Required Skills and Experience Spacecraft subsystem knowledge Experience in spacecraft operations Ability to work in an organised manner, with good reporting skills and reliable deadline meeting. Ability to work with other service providers in operations team player Ability to interact with other teams supporting the operations preparation e.g. Payload Data Ground Segment, Ground Data Systems Fluency in English, both spoken and written Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Familiarity with MOIS Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 09 August 2019 Start of Work Mid October 2019 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
