This is an an ideal position for an experienced Engineer with minimum 3 years experience with Symantec NetBackup or similar, Oracle SAMFS or similar and StorageTek SL8500 series to support development and maintenance of storage and computing systems with special focus on backup, archive and retrieval services for the satellite mission Copernicus Sentinel3. The position is fully based on customer site in EUMETSAT, unlimited and fulltime. Start is foreseen 01st of March 2016. Submission deadline for applicants for this position will be 13.01.2016. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The tasks of the Key person will typically include monitoring of the facility services, computing, storage, backup and archive performance, investigation into HW and SW problems and performance of the relevant corrective actions ensuring that in case of HW or SW failures the operational configuration can be restored, including the definition, maintenance, performance of backuparchive procedures provision of standbyoncall support provision of support, as required, to critical operations The duties include the administration and operation of the central archive systems and tape storage components, maintenance of the offsite storage, inventory and support to the operation of the storage services. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE University or similar degree in Engineering or similar Engineer with minimum 3 years experience with Symantec NetBackup or similar, Oracle SAMFS or similar and StorageTek SL8500 series ESSENTIAL SKILLS Fluency in English At least 5 years experience in the administration and troubleshooting of distributed storage and computing systems in high availability cluster environments, running Oracle Solaris and Linux operating systems. At least 5 years experience in the implementation and maintenance of backup and recovery solutions Symantec NetBackup At least 3 years experience in the implementation and maintenance of archive solutions managed by Hierarchical Storage Management HSM system Oracle SAMFS At least 3 years experience administering high end, automated, tape library systems StorageTek SL8500 series with ACSLS software At least 5 years experience in Storage administration of Storage Area Networks SAN, middle and enterprise storage arrays serving many different types of client platforms via a virtual layer DESIRABLE SKILLS StorageSystemService Monitoring using Nagios framework Administration Perl and PHP scripting TCPIP internetworking and the related network protocols and applications
