We are currently looking for a System Engineer for Remote Sensing to support our customer in Germany. System Engineer for Remote Sensing Key Tasks and Responsibilities This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in the Jason Ocean Surface Topography Programme. The programme collates data and delivers a range of products in support of meteorology, operational oceanography and, in particular, the monitoring of the sealevel trend, a key indicator of climate change. This is a transatlantic programme and provides opportunities to develop your career in an international and multicultural environment. You will join the team at an early stage in the programme giving you the chance to have a direct impact on the development of the Jason CS system. Requirements engineering, which consists in requirement analysis and validation, requirement allocation, and requirement maintenance Functional analysis and architecture design applying system modelling engineering methods and techniques Subsegment components specification Interface and data structures and flows definition Design, build and configuration which results in a physical architecture, described by its complete functional, physical and software characteristics System analysis, which is performed for the purpose of resolving requirements conflicts, decomposing and allocating requirements, assessing system effectiveness Performance of trade studies for assessing effectiveness, risk, cost and planning. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience A university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline Extensive System Engineering life cycle experience for the development of remote sensing and Earth observation systems Several years of experience in the field of architectural design Good knowledge of ISO, Software development, and Space and Ground System engineering processes and standards Experience in Model Based System engineering methods, techniques and tools Experience in the use of modelling and design tools in support of architectural design activities e.g. CORE Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
