CGI is one of Europes leading suppliers of mission control systems for spacecraft and monitoring and control systems for groundstations. We are seeking talented junior engineers to further strengthen our team and help us deliver some of the most exciting control systems in Europe. Our team is based in Darmstadt, Germany. This role would ideally be performed parttime e.g. 820 hours a week in parallel with your studies. This industrial placement could potentially evolve into a working student contract. Our Darmstadt office is focused exclusively on the Space market, and we have a complex landscape of Linux and Windowsbased infrastructure. Tasks You will be supporting an international, dynamic and successful team working on some of the most challenging and exciting Space projects in Europe. Depending on your experience and ability, you will perform a wide range of tasks whilst supporting the lead system administrators, including Acting as 1st line user support person Installation of predefined Linux and Windows images on machines Configuration and installation of IP telephones Asterisk based Resolving Windows Microsoft Office issues Recabling patch panels Solving hardware issues on x86 hardware Desktops, Laptops Setting up cabling, PCs and telephones with users Resolving printer issues. Qualifications Skills required Knowledge of Linux Knowledge of Windows Basic understanding of IP networks Basic understanding of IP telephony Working knowledge of English.
