EUMETSAT is the European satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate. Bringing together the resources of 30 member states, we develop and operate a range of satellite systems surveying the atmosphere, land and ocean that deliver vital data 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. From 2016 onwards, EUMETSAT will also operate the Copernicus Sentinel 3,4,5 and 6 missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data and services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users. System Verification and Validation Engineer REF. VN1533 You will lead the verification and validation activities associated with the data processing chain of our future Meteosat Third Generation system. We will look to you to familiarise yourself with instrument performance, data processing and datasets for imagery and sounding, in order to assess VV needs, define test cases and scenarios, follow up tests, assess results and support related procurement activities. Alongside a degreelevel qualification in Engineering or a similar discipline, you should possess proven experience of data processing systems development, including preparation and execution of testing and the use of simulators or tools to generate test data. Equally importantly, you will be skilled in analysing and reporting on test runs, knowledgeable regarding the data processing aspects of Earth observation or remote sensing satellites, and capable of communicating effectively both within and across teams. Finally, you must be fully fluent in English, with a working knowledge of French.
