Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a Systems Engineer LEO Division at EUMETSAT. Tasks This profile constitutes the requirements provision of consultancy support to assist the Low Earth Orbit LEO Division performing system engineering and design activities. The tasks of the Key person will be carried out mainly at EUMETSAT facilities in Darmstadt, but travel within Europe and to the USA may be required for certain activities. The Key person will carry out tasks which support activities typically related to Phase BC of a space programme in the area of system design engineering and architecture definition. The Key person will work within the Sentinel6JasonCS project, with potential support to other LEO programmes. The Key person will perform system engineering activities such as Justification of the system design including producing and maintaining any relevant analyses and budgets General support to system engineering activities, for example Documentation of system design and interfaces. Support to the technical coordination with Partners. Support to segment level activities and reviews as required. Participate to System level formal reviews. In the performance of these tasks, the Key person shall apply the EUMETSAT configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards and quality management procedures. Essential requirements The Key person shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. Knowledge and experience with the following is considered mandatory At least 5 years demonstrated experience in the field of large scale systems engineering and architectural design Demonstrated ability to analyse systems from an endtoend perspective Capability to prepare design documents, to perform systemlevel analyses and to produce and maintain technical budgets. Desirable requirements Knowledge and experience with the following is considered an advantage Experience in earth observation satellitebased projects, particularly in the areas of nearreal time data processing or spacecraft control systems Experience with Model Based System Engineering with the support of dedicated tools e.g. CORE Space and ground system engineering processes and standards. Other Information Start date is the 2nd quarter of 2016.
