Technical Project Manager EO Climate SystemsServices J 2969 Summary An outgoing individual with significant experience in the use of Earth Observation data and systems and strong organisational skills. Objective To lead projects delivering to European satellite and climate programmes, working with data and technology experts inhouse and commercial partners. This role will also support bidding for and winning new work. Responsibilities Duties Project management Engage with technical activities as appropriate to area of expertise Interaction with instrument scientists, engineering teams, software developers, subcontractors and customers including ESA and commercial organisations. Travel to European customer sites Contribute to bid activities Line management Qualifications Experience Deep understanding typically 10 years of Earth Observation or related Space systems or similar scientifictechnical environments Degree or equivalent experience in relevant technical subject e.g. Physics, Remote Sensing, Information Technology, Climate Science Essential Skills Project Management ideally experience in Earth Observation datahandling projects services Leadership of engineering sciencefocused teams Experience in winning and delivering ESAEU programmes involving at least one of An Earth Observation instrument An Earth Observation dataset A Climate relevant dataset or process System level design of a space related ground segment Good organisational skills Planning inc. budget control Bid writing covering technical and management proposals Customer relationship management negotiation General IT skills for standard office use Good written and verbal communication Desirable Skills Expert knowledge experience in at least one of An Earth Observation instrument An Earth Observation dataset A Climate relevant dataset or process System level design of a space related ground segment Familiarity with current IT technologies relevant to EO Climate data systems e.g. OGC standards Web services Virtualization ITbased engineering Qualities Willingness to take on responsibility for delivery Selfmotivated and inquisitive Professional, systematic and thorough Comfortable working in an international environment Flexible and willing to work on a range of activities, to meet business needs Good team worker Further Details All roles within Telespazio VEGA have a defined closing date, however if a successful candidate is found before the advert expires the role will be closed early.
