Test Engineer for EPSSG 1813037 Job Description We are looking for a Test Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT in the overall system and ground segment VV verification and validation activities, with special emphasis to the EPSSG Programme. The tasks to be conducted are related to test tools and test data required for VV of onground data processing chains, such as test data generation, manipulation, reformatting, inspection, injection, collection and analysis. Typical tasks will include Contribution to the inhouse development and validation of test data and their maintenance. Contribution to the inhouse development and validation of test tools and their maintenance. Provide service for the consolidation of the development logic for test tools I test data and compilation of the associated schedule. Provide service for procurements of test tools I test data, including the analysis of received deliverables and attending acceptance tests. Provide service for acceptance oftest tools I test data provided by partners such as ESA, CNES, DLR. Provide service for the simulation of test data sets for V V using available tools generation oftest data sets using real data from satellite and instrument onground tests or inorbit operation. Provide service for the implementation of an infrastructure to host test tools and test data. Provide service for configuration management of tools I test data sets, using applicable EUMETSAT processes. Provide service for the preparation o f V V tests o f processing chains, such as preparation of test specifications and procedures, specifically for aspects related to use of test tools and test data. Contribute to the execution of VV tests of processing chains, specifically for the analysis of test results, inter alia using developed test analysis tools, with documentation of the results in test reports. Additionally, you will also be involved in more generic tasks, such as Participation in relevant internal and external meetings. Regular review of EPSSG documentation dealing with requirements, system concepts, architecture and design, technical analyses, to identify information of importance for test tools and test data. In addition, and with the same aim, analysis of documents provided by other teams in EUMETSAT and by external partners. Support for the preparation o f documentation for EPSSG system level reviews. Required Skills and Experience University degree in the domain of engineering, physics or equivalent. At least 3 years of general experience with onground processing of data from satellite instruments for Earth observation. At least 3 years of handson involvement in VV activities for onground processing chains, including production of test tools and of test data. At least 3 years of experience with software specification, design and development and relevant standards. be able to fulfil the assigned tasks without supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks, fluent in English, have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation, have good communication skills verbal and written, be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. Desirable Skills and Experience Direct involvement in preparation oftest plans, specifications, procedures and reports.
