US apparel imports have continued slowly rising in volume terms in May, as unit prices were no more dropping in exporting countries confronted with rapidly rising material costs. Whatever the jump of cotton yarn prices, US demand for more expensive cotton apparel has rebounded to the detriment of cheaper man-made fiber apparel imports.
