US apparel imports from China have more suffered than shipments from other origins, in the first half. China has more resisted in volume terms than in dollar terms, as average unit values were sharply reduced. Other countries have experienced a less dramatic drop in their shipments, with significant differences depending on origins and product categories. Our series of statistical tables offer a comprehensive comparison of volume, value, and unit value changes per origin and product category in the first half of 2020. The report also includes a detailed comparison of Chinese price trends vs. other origins, through a series of indexes. Our full table is available for download. [ more ]
