Vice President, Business Development, SES SL IOM Ref SES0417 Region Europe Location Isle of Man Douglas Company SES Category Other Engineering Technical Position Management Context Act as the focal point within SES Satellite Leasing for development of the commercial activities, encompassing satellite investment activities and the generation of the underlying satellite communications business. Responsibilities Work closely with the SES corporate business development teams to identify opportunities that fit the SES Satellite Leasing SL strategy Attend relevant business development meetings Develop and maintain a high level knowledge of business development opportunities within the SES group, identifying and supporting those that fit SES SLs investment profile Additionally, investigate and develop new commercial avenues outside of the SES group that could serve to bring appropriately profiled business opportunities to SES SL Support the development of appropriate commercial developments making recommendations for adoption to the SES SL Managing Director MD and Board of Directors BoD, taking responsibility for the development of appropriate material to support the SES SL investment decision process As requested by the SES SL MD, fulfill one of the SES SL Directors positions, taking an active part in the BoD activities As required, support travel in order to attend internal and external business meetings, trade shows and other events which support the development of the SES SL business Maintain a high level of familiarity with SES SLs existing business providing an objective assessment of those activities to the SES MD and BoD Support the development of relationships with the IoM, UK and other governments in order to identify business opportunities, understand and influence relevant policy and generally promote SES SL and the SES group Operate as a collegial member of the SES SL management team. Support, evaluate and identify strategic initiatives intended to develop SES business. Experience Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Satellite, Communications, or Electronic Engineering or related area Additional business related qualifications would be a distinct advantage Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English A proven track record in managing and motivating subordinates, and collegially operating at senior staff levels and across departments Ability to undertake extensive international travel Ability to produce and present in a cogent and inspiring manner to a variety of internal and external audiences, material in support of the departments and companys goals.
