Are Your Internet Leads Buying Someplace Else? Major innovative kudos to Autobytel and Polk for teaming up on this new product feature. This is very cool and smart. Heres how it works: 1.  Dealership A (You) gets an internet sales lead from Autobytel. Lets call her Jane. 2.  You contact Jane and she comes into your showroom. 3.  Unfortunately, Jane leaves your lot and buys from Dealership B (Not You) 4.  Now, you can get a Lost Sales Report from Autobytel using DMV data provided by Polk that shows who leads like Jane actually bought from and what they bought  make, model, new or used. There are some very minor disclaimers  for privacy reasons, the report does not show you the names of the customers, some states wont release certain data, and not every sale is picked up and reported by Polk data. 5.  And then.. it gets even better  not only do you receive the report, a knowledgeable person from Autobytel calls you to talk about the results and offers best practice suggestions about how to help stop your leads like Jane from buying elsewhere.
